Yard Work

We went out to Elko a couple weeks ago and helped with yard work and visited with family. We had a really good time and it was fun working on the yard with everyone. The girls all went to a movie Friday night, we worked outside all day Saturday, Sunday after church we just hung out and watched our videos from the cruise. Thanks for the fun weekend everyone. I am so lucky to have such fun in-laws and the kids have so much fun with their cousins. (I left my camera there and just got in back so I'm late with the post)

Bostyn and Tate were so cute! After church they were so ready for their naps but not willing to stop playing cars. They just layed here rolling their cars and trucks around.
Working in the yard!!! (I learned how to use some power tools, look at those boys watch with admiration) :) jk-they were wishing they could just finish the job cuz I was so horrible.

Mother's Day

I am so spoiled!!!
Is it not the most wonderful thing to have Mother's Day and Birthday's??? I just wish I could celebrate one a month! Mother's Day started with sleeping in! The best thing ever!!! Then Bart and Zhoee arrived with a tray of french toast, fruit, scrambled eggs, and orange julius. I was in heaven. Then they brought up a dozen pink roses, a new movie, and a gift certificate for a pedicure/manicure! YES!! Bart made an effort to come home from his morning meetings to help me get the kids ready for church-which I really appreciated. It was so relaxing to have Bart get dinner all ready and let me have a nice nap after church too. I milked it and enjoyed every second of relaxing! Thanks to my wonderful husband and kids. Mother's Day was Perfect. Now I'll just wait for my B-day for my next day to sleep in:)

Tackle Football

Today a note about "real" football was passed out and Jadon couldn't stop talking about playing the older football now that he's almost seven. He went on and on about wearing all the pads and running and tackling people, running with the ball, and scoring touchdowns. When he was talking about tackling he turned to me and asked, "You can punch people too, right!"

Look what she can do now.....

On Saturday it all started happening- Our little 3 year old is riding her bike!!!! Jadon started when he was two and riding around like he owned the place on his 3rd birthday. Zhoee doesn't seem to be quite as active and I thought it would take her longer to learn but here she is.......Bart and I follow along with her still because it's a little iffy on if she'll slam into a parked car. She just peddles and SMILES so big!!! Her concentration isn't on her steering she's just thinking"look at me!!!"

Swine Flu?

After watching the news this morning it kinda freaked me out that we were just in Mexico two weeks ago. At first I thought, Oh, we were totally safe because we were in the resort towns. But, while we were there it was very crowded on most of the beaches, resorts, and markets. We were reminded several times it was Spring Break for all of Mexico that week. Many were there vacationing from metropolitan cities like Mexico City, where this swine flu origionated. Our last day on the cruise some of our family became sick, flu like sick. We thought it was because of the ship movement but could they have had the flu???? One of our sister-in-laws got really sick right when we returned and had to go in twice to the Dr. because she wasn't getting any better. She's OK now but had a pretty horrible week. Kinda freaky to think about all this spreading around. It got me thinking: About three weeks ago, right before we left on our trip, we were discussing our food storage in church and a lady in our ward mentioned we are more likely to NEED our food storage because of quarantining our family against diseases than natural disasters!!! WOW! What if we HAD to keep our children and husbands home from school and work and us mothers from the grocery stores so we didn't catch this thing???? Do we have enough food storage? In Mexico they've cancelled many schools and at most sporting events there were no spectators allowed.

The Skate Party

The school skate party was so much fun. The kids scooted and skated around the parking lot with the crowd and Bossy was thinking he was pretty hot stuff out there on his little 3-wheeler.

This picture makes me sad because Zhoee looks so much older than the three-year-old she is.
After riding his bike around and around Bostyn took a time out for his dinner. After his hot dog he curbed it and consumed his chips and pop as he watched all the other riders. How cute is he??? I always catch myself just watching him and being so entertained by little things he does.

Love those chips!!!

zHOEE with her dad! (he came right from the bank or he'd be in more leizurly attire)

Kelsie's girly shower

Kelsie came up North for a visit and she did pretty well for herself and her little baby at her TWO showers. The first was Friday night at my house and we sure had a house full guests and she recieved some of the cutest blankets, outfits, and girly dresses I have ever seen. I made up my mind there and then that I NEED to have another girl. The Trujillos hosted another shower on Saturday and Kelsie was again spoiled. (to say the least) Kelsie went home Sunday and I really miss her- 4 days is just not enough, especially when every few minutes she'd pull a funny, painful looking face and put her hand on her belly and we could feel that spoiled little baby's bum sticking out on one side. I LOVED it!!! We won't see her again until we have a new little neice and cousin. Kels, Thanks for coming for a visit! We had so much fun- and miss you already.

The fabulous diaper cake!!

Zhoee, of course, thought this party was for her and "helped" Kelsie open every present. She even begged to try on some of the dresses???? Crazy girl.

The Cruise

We returned last week from our nine days of relaxing, over-eating, laying out, walking the beach, enjoying shows, dressing up, snorkeling, swimming, hot tubbing, sleeping in, etc... It was a little hard to come back to reality but we were very ready to hug the kids. Here are just a few of the picture of our Mexican Riviera Cruise. We had such a great time!!!

My favorite part about this trip was my fun husband. It was so amusing to just listen to him speak spanish and kick it with the natives. He was always getting us killer deals on our souvoneirs, excursions, etc.. I would listen to him and he and the people he was talking with would laugh or whatever and I was always begging to be filled in with what they laughed about or what information he found out. It was so entertaining, I don't think I've really ever heard him carry on a conversation in Spanish until this trip.

On the deck-It was pretty windy!

We docked right by a huge air craft carrier

We loved our yummy breakfasts!

We woke up really early one morning to enjoy a sunrise on the ocean. We were up at 6:30am and after getting our hot chocolates we sat out on the very back of the ship and just relaxed and took pictures of the absolutely gorgeous sunrise!!!! How romantic!

En route to this tiny island that had some great snorkeling. It had tons of starfish, crabs, tropical fish and, get this, SEA LIONS. Yes, we've all seen sea lions- but, I thought it was quite the adventure to swim around with them. It was pretty freaky at first but they kinda just kept to themselves and we paddled along looking at the coral. This was such a fun trip.

With our g guide after we returned from our snorkeling adventure.

Mazatlan In Mazatlan Bart and I took a catamaran over to Deer Island and spend a little while over there and walked around. The ride was so fun and the water was the perfect temperature.

Kinda corney picture, but we were excited.

We just HAD to stop and buy some candy for the kidos!

In Cabo we did the Zip lines tour. We completed 13 zip lines, repelling, a comando bridge over a river, and some rock climbing. It was quite a fun day; we were just sad we didn't get to see more of Cabo's beaches. (maybe another time)

Arriving in Cabo- In the horizon-Lovers Beach

Karaoke- We rocked the house singing "Goodbye Earl" I think everyone got a good laugh!

Black Eyes and bruises

So, My cute little Zhoee wanted to do my hair and make-up this morning. I remember thinking when she was putting on the dark blue eye shadow and red blush that I'd have to check out the work she did right when she finished up. But.... The phone rang, then the dryer beeped, then the dishes were calling my name to be put in the dish washer and so on and so on........ At noon we ate lunch and Zhoee was waiting for our neighbor to pick her up for school. I walked her to the door and my friend asked about my eyes. I just felt dumb (totally forgetting about our earlier make-up session) and thought she just thought I looked different because I hadn't put any make-up on today. Then she looked a little worried and asked if I was hurt. I laughed so hard... I hadn't even looked in the mirror all morning long. I ran to look and IT WAS BAD!!!! My poor friend admitted it went through her mind that Bart might beat me!!!!! It looked like I had been bruised from cheek to cheek. HA!!! I washed my face as soon as they left for pre-school.

Thirty-One years old-and still alive to tell about it!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BART!!!
Yesterday was Bart's 31st Birthday! We surprised him at work with some balloons and treats and then we all went to lunch: Zhoee, Bostyn, me, and Bart. Jadon was at school and we missed him!!! (He doesn't know he missed anything, there was cake and ice cream when he got home and that's all he cared about) The workers at Applebee's sang Bart a snazzy little Birthday song and Bart said it was worth the embarrasment to get a free sundae!! Bart is choosing a new computer for his mountain bike for his present!!! What a bummer that he had to spend his birthday night chasing three kids around the gym while I had volleyball games (We won the championship, by the way!!!!). He didn't complain, but supported me and had fun with the kids. Bart your a great husband and father and we love you so much!!!!
I just hope I never get as old as you :)

This is usually what he wears in the morning hours, Jammies, mismatched shoes, and a coat.
Sorry about my yucky floor, I was just ready to mop, I swear!!!

As I place many of my posts in our scrapbook I need to document how funny this little guy of ours is.....Bostyn has some FUNNY little quirks going on in this stage of his life and Bart and I would be sad if we didn't remember these cute little things when he turns into a mean and nasty teenager.
1. He has to put on his shoes first thing in the morning. Only a diaper on? Jammies on? Dirty diaper? Doesn't matter, he needs shoes on as fast as possible and he will BUG us to death until we surrender to putting on the mismatched shoes he is holding up to us.
2. He always needs a coat on. No, our house is 68 degrees and perfect for me and Bart (some of his family would argue our house is COLD) but he just likes having his coat on, he thinks it means he'll go outside soon. He ALWAYS wants to be outside. Blizzard, rain, or shine he wants to be in the backyard pushing himself on his bike, pushing his big tonka trucks or climbing up and down the ladder to the treehouse. Although since we've gotten Dex, Bostyn has loved just running around with him.
3. All the sudden he has to have a blankie! He doesn't really have a particular favorite he just needs any of his blankets that are in sight. If he sees three blankies lying on his bed, he brings all three and he's not happy until he's wrapped in all three.
4. This boy is the sweetest thing there is. He absolutely loves his nightime routine and he's so fun and easy to put to sleep (unlike his sister). He just chooses a few books, jumps right on his bed, and lays down ready to read. When the few books are finished he waves at either me or Bart and says Ny-Night! That's it! We turn of his lamp, close his door and see him in the morning. He's an angel.
5. His paternal instincts are not quite up to par for the time being. He ABSOLUTELY LOVES to push Zhoee's little doll stroller all over the house. We have the perfect house for winding around in figure eights all over the main level. But, if you try to put a baby in there for him.... He throws it out and replaces it with one of his small trucks of 4-wheelers and he'll continue to stroll away and give them a ride.

Simplifying Our Life

It's really come to our attention over the last few months how busy we are. There is not ONE night where we both get to just BE HOME. We each have busy church callings and we play sports and I coach volleyball, it's just gotten too crazy. It's to the point where we look ahead into the week and know we won't have a chance to even sit down and talk to each other until Sunday afternoon and it can be a sad feeling knowing you can't spend more time at home because you've taken on TOO MUCH. Bart and I are both the type that enjoy being active and busy, but just not this busy. So, even though I only work a couple days a week teaching 4th grade (which I have really enjoyed being able to do with my awesome MOM), I turned in my resignation papers last week. Yep, I'm going to be at home FULL TIME!!! I really love coaching and I'll still continue to do that. But, we both recongnize that we'll have to say "NO" to playing some sports, magnify our callings in the simplest way possible, and spend a little more time PLAYING with our kids!!! Isn't that what life's really about? Wish me luck! This feels like a GREAT decision!

Bostyn Loves Dex

Bostyn calls Dex's name all the time. He doesn't say the "x" though so it sounds like "deh".

TA-DAAaaaa

Bart taught Bossy a new trick over the weekend.
How cute is this?
